Royal William Square from an architect's impression

Dunescape is part of Royal William Square, a small beach-house development designed by Knox Bhavan Architects (KBA)

The communal Dunescape gardensThe practice is renowned for its elegant, eco-friendly modern buildings. The two images here show the original vision – sadly the turbines haven’t survived.

KBA say of their approach:  “The question always asked by KBA is ‘What makes good design?’ What makes a building? In answering this question KBA strive to make buildings that are both functional and a delight to occupy. Their buildings celebrate light and space, materials and colour, function and flexibility.”

In 2007, just after RWS was completed, the practice won the Grand Designs Best New-Build House award for the Holly Barn, Reedham,Norfolk.

The judges said it was “an unusual and striking house in a lovely setting. The detailing was excellent.”

The same is often said of Dunescape, and Royal William Square. So if you’d like to stay in a holiday home that not only has great architecture, but is 30 seconds from the beach, take a look at Dunescape or one of these other homes you can rent in Royal William Square.
