Chapel Down Winery
Chapel Down’s a great place: a winery which produces award-winning English wines, a shop with a wide range of wonderful Kent and Sussex local produce, and a really good restaurant.
It’s different, just listen to how they introduce themselves on their website: “England remains one of the most tolerant, caring, enterprising, ingenious, creative, stylish, energizing and occasionally eccentric places on Earth. If those values are important to you, then you’re English – whether you were born here or not. They are not just English values. They are Chapel Down’s values.”
We are currently giving guests at Dunescape Camber a complementary bottle of Chapel Down’s delicious Flint Dry, with its “summery aromas of pear, greengage, floral, citrus and stonefruit and juicy flavours of peach, melon, citrus and pineapple” in the welcome packs we leave for guests.
Chapel Down is worth a visit. There are guided tours daily during the summer and at weekends out of season. Details are here: http://www.chapeldown.com/our-home/guided-tours.aspx
And if you prefer to wander around on your own, you can pick up a vineyard map from the Wine and Fine Food Store.
The store sells all the Chapel Down wines, plus over 30 British cheeses, and great locally-produced beers, ciders, juices and ice cream.

There’s a restaurant too – The Swan - which serves “a great value, locally sourced English menu with homemade treats, sharing boards and savouries available throughout the day.”
